This is a legacy post from a previous iteration of my site.

Published: Nov 22 2025

Sadly, some of the archive.org links in this post no longer exist. This is one of the reasons why I **have* ported all of the posts from the last iteration over to this one in a more comprehensive manner.

🔥

****I recovered some posts - have a look!**

I managed to recover the three oldest posts from the list below from my [GitHub repo archive](https://github.com/marccoup/blog?ref=marccoup.uk)! Unfortunately, the other three are lost to time, they're newer but I deleted the repo for that site instead of archiving it, silly I know! Anyway you can read the three I recovered here:

\- [an actual post (AKA the real first post)](https://marccoup.uk/an-actual-post-aka-the-real-first-post/)
\- [Deploy scripts TypeScript style](https://marccoup.uk/writing-a-deploy-script-in-typescript/)
\- [This site - but PHP!](https://marccoup.uk/rewriting-this-site-in-php/)

The titles of these posts have changed over time, but I've preserved the original names in this document only

If you've followed my blog for any length of time (doubtful!) you'll notice my entire backlog of (6) posts have disappeared from the site. This is simply because I have not ported them to the new version of this site.

Part of me misses them, but they weren't works of art. Only 2 of them were real blog posts with anything to say anyway (even that is debatable), the others were variations of (I have rebuilt the site again, with new bad design!). **THIS TIME** it will be different. This site is pretty well set up, probably due to the fact I used a [Statamic starter kit](https://statamic.com/starter-kits/statamic/stumblr?ref=marccoup.uk), and spent a bunch of time browsing the indie web while setting it all up, which has me more inspired to just put stuff out there!

Here are the posts on the wayback machine if you are interested at all:

- [an actual post (aka the real first post)](https://web.archive.org/web/20240807130254/https://marccoup.uk/articles/an-actual-post-aka-the-real-first-post/)
- [Deploy scripts TypeScript style](https://web.archive.org/web/20240807131433/https://marccoup.uk/articles/writing-a-deploy-script-in-typescript/)
- [This site - but PHP!](https://web.archive.org/web/20240807132129/https://marccoup.uk/articles/rewriting-this-site-in-php/)
- [This site - but Laravel!](https://web.archive.org/web/20240807114947/https://marccoup.uk/articles/rewriting-this-site-as-a-laravel-application/)
- [I really need to learn design](https://web.archive.org/web/20240807113304/https://marccoup.uk/articles/i-really-need-to-learn-design/)
- [A WIP I'll never finish writing - Orignal Title: i learnt design. (kinda?)](https://web.archive.org/web/20250715060600/https://marccoup.uk/articles/i-took-jack-mcdades-radical-design-course/)

Perhaps I'll port these over at some point, and put them in some archive section. Perhaps I won't. At least they exist on archive.org I guess?

There's something here about the value of starting fresh and letting go of the past as well. Like, I thought to myself when I ditched those old posts "Oh people will think I only just set up this site/blog/whatever" - but really, should I care? Does that matter? No it doesn't. I guess I didn't really get over that either since I wrote this post. Oh well, in the words of Eleanor Shellstrop "Pobody's Nerfect" (I'm sure that phrase came before then but I don't care to do the research).

A wild ride back in time!
