# Christmas in Cyprus

If you don't know, I'm from the UK (see the tld) - but this year I spent Christmas in Cyprus with my partner and her family! Today is the 26th and I have a bit of downtime before we're off to a boxing day wedding, so I thought I might write something about the differences between a typical Christmas day in the UK[\[1\]](#fn1)

## Prelude to the day

The build up to Christmas day for me has historically been a lot of shopping and my Nan stressing about the food and expectations placed upon her. I'm sure this is a far from a unique experience for people
